Top Blog Posts, News & Podcasts From October

Top Blog Posts, Podcasts, & Links From October 2012

October continued on as another great month here at Cold's Gold Factory, with plenty of the fresh Mists of Pandaria traffic continuing to pour in.  Readers, you can always send in questions to me directly or you can leave your WoW gold making questions over on the /Goblinism subreddit.

October's WoW Gold Blogging Carnival was a great one that focused on our MoP Launch Strategies and Results.  This was a great series to see the various plans of multiple gold makers and just how they turned out posts Mists of Pandaria's launch.  Be sure to check out those carnival entries and you may get a few ideas for making gold in WoW that you aren't already working on.

Podcast News From October

Auction House Junkies

The Auction House Junkies podcast is done.  Yup. We've officially called it quits instead of limping out a show here and there.  The previous shows are still available and are still worth a listen for new listeners, but there are no plans to release new episodes at this time.  The show won't be resurrected in the future, without the help of a financial sponsor.  I'd love to continue on with the podcast, but I can't afford to carry the finacial burden, nor do I have time for editing it in addition to my own podcast segment, so it's dead at this point.

The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast

With the collapse of AHJ, we've rolled gold making segments into the new mostly WoW format of The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast.  We've been bringing some good discussion and content that relates to the World of Warcraft economy and WoW gold making as a regular part of every show, so don't miss it!

We've had some pretty awesome, funny, and crazy episodes lately, as well as our first ever guest on the show (Episodes #25).  Here's the latest episodes from October:
  1. The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast #21 - "Bubbles The Orc"
  2. The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast #22 - "Progressive Heaven" (Musical Week while we took a break from the show)
  3. The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast #23 - "Zumba Scouts"
  4. The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast #24 - "Crazy Bacon"

Gifts For Gamers Additions

The Gifts For Gamers column on Saturdays has been going great and I've been having a blast sharing some of the cool stuff I've found.  Be sure to check out the older entries and look out for some great ones still to come!  Here are the ones from October:

  1. Gifts For Gamers - War of the Ancients WoW TCG Loot
  2. Gifts For Gamers - 14" Poseable Plush Sinister Squashling
  3. Gifts For Gamers - "Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline
  4. Gifts For Gamers - Top 15 Gamer Friendly Movies From My Childhood

Top Cold's Gold Factory Blog Posts From October
  1. Tillers Union Daily Quests & Mats - Easy Gold Making - Shopping lists for dailies grinds and what you should be tilling & selling.
  2. Spirit of Harmony Equivalent Crafting Values aka Kobolds Are Bad At Math
  3. Ghost Iron Dragonling & The New Cogwheels (Tinker's Gear) - Cogwheels are selling for crazy profit still on my server.
  4. Greenstone Quarry - Ghost Iron Ore Farming - My favorite spot for Ghost Iron farming.
  5. Restored Artifacts, Brann Bronzebeard, & Easier Vial Of Sands - It's so much easier to grind the damn Vial recipe now.

Goldgrub's Goblin Academy

In addition to the posts here, we are trying to get Goldgrub's Goblin Academy off of life support and back kicking out more posts.  Here is a great pair of posts from Goldgrubs.com.
  1. Farming Meats For MoP Cooking - Easy reference with links to top MoP meat farming spots.  Thanks Nev!
  2. Gold Making Tips On Low Pop WoW Servers - A great guest post submitted from a first time writer.  Stop by and leave him some feedback.

As always, thanks for reading and checking out the podcast episodes!

Top Posts, News, & Podcasts Info From September

Top Blog Posts, News, & Podcasts From September 2012

September was another great month here at Cold's Gold Factory with a nice flood of new traffic coming as players returned for Mists of Pandaria.  Remember, you can always send in questions to me directly or you can leave your WoW gold making questions over on the new /Goblinism subreddit

In September, we ran the Gold Blogging Carnival on the Remote Auction House to compare different WoW gold making strategies, tips, and trips for using the now free remote auction house.  Be sure to check out those 8 carnival posts from multiple authors, especially since the remote auction house access is now available to everyone.

Last month, I also released the new blog posting schedule for Cold's Gold Factory, which has already gone into effect.  The weekly column Gifts For Gamers is now also underway and the entries can be seen here on the site every Saturday.

Grand Old Podcast - History Of WoW Podcasters

I was featured on Sayo's Grand Old Podcast - History of WoW Podcasters.  This interview was a lot of fun and we had a nice long discussion of a ton of topics including WoW gaming, blogging, and podcasting.  I got some very nice feedback about the interview and someone even said it was "very inspiring".  Ah, warm and fuzzies.  Make sure to check it out and check out the other great interviews from Sayomara.

The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast

We continue to pump out the episodes on The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast.  We have a lot of fun recording this show to be both entertaining, helpful, and informative.  So be sure to check it out on iTunes or Stitcher Radio.  If you like the show, then make sure to drop a review on iTunes.  Those reviews help us to pull in new listeners, which can lead to more interaction and better show discussions.

Top Blog Posts From July 2012

Top Blog Posts, News, & Podcasts From July 2012

I've started to turn back to more of a regular posting schedule here at Cold's Gold Factory, in preparation for Mists of Pandaria, the next WoW expansion.  After losing the majority of interest in that whack ass Diablo 3, I'm back playing and experimenting within the time stood favorite, World of Warcraft.  I have been very pleased with the quality of posts that I've been writing lately and look forward to spreading more gold making goodness in regards to getting ready for the next expansion.  I've started up my bank and guild bank cleaning projects and have resumed stockpiling for Mists of Pandaria.

In July, We ran the Cold's Gold Blogging Carnival featuring Gold Maker Recommendations For The Expansion Lull to help provide insight as to what you can be doing now at the end of the expansion to prepare for the next one.  The topic for the August CGF Blogging Carnival was also announced, where we will compare different posting strategies of seperate markets.

Podcast News For July

Auction House Junkies

The big news is that Auction House Junkies is back putting out WoW gold making podcasts.  We've already released 2 new episodes and we are busy researching for more episodes to come out in the near future.

Be sure to check out:

The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast

The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast continues pumping out episodes on a weekly basis (minus the week we lost an episode and R9z's computer, but we hope to get that episode off the hard drive once the pc is fixed and healthy again.)  The shift in content has swung back towards World of Warcraft as we are getting sick of Diablo 3 and Mists of Pandaria is less than 2 months away.

Be sure to check out:
As always, if you enjoy the podcasts, be sure to stop by iTunes and leave us a review or give us a thumbs up on Stitcher Radio.

Top Blog Posts Here At Cold's Gold Factory In July

Top 5 posts of July here at Cold's Gold Factory were:

  1. Source List Of All Companion Pets Turning To Rare Battle Pets - Find out what pets are going to be rare battle pets and find out how you can obtain them, as well as which ones are no longer obtainable.
  2. Dump Your Holiday Pets Now! - This post warns and explains why you shouldn't hang on to those holiday pets you've been stockpiling for Mists of Pandaria.
  3. Why Buy Low, Sell Normal Is A Joke - Don't be fooled by internet salesmen sensationalism.  Buy low, sell normal is laughable and is only worth practicing if you want to limit your profits.
  4. Guide To WoW TCG Pet Codes & Loot Cards - A breakdown of what pets come from which loot codes as well as what TCG expansion these codes are from, in case you feel like gambling.
  5. Battle Pets Podcast With Alludra & Kephas - Here I introduce a great new podcast that I have been enjoying that focuses on the upcoming Battle Pets System.
If you haven't checked out these popular posts, then have a look.  I'm sure you will find plenty of useful information within them.  As always, thanks for reading!

Recap: Top Blog Posts From February

February Popular Posts At Cold's Gold Factory

Each month, I like to do a quick wrap-up of the top posts from the previous month.  This helps bring attention to some of the most discussed or the most visited blog posts here at Cold's Gold Factory and it is especially helpful for new or returning readers to find great posts that they may have missed.

By a longshot, the most popular posts from the month of February were the posts dealing with the Love Is In The Air holiday event and farming the needed Lovely Charms.

Best Place To Farm Lovely Charms 2012 - This holiday specific blog post was designed to bring attention to my favorite Lovely Charm farming location and killing Slags.  While Throne of Tides may be prefer by some, I prefer the Slags myself.

Making Gold With Lovely Charm Farming - The debate stirring post.  Which is more time efficient: Farming all the Charms to make Bracelets or using the daily holiday event quests to gather your Love tokens?

Goblinism From The Early Years And Beyond - This was a fun post to write and showed just a handful of the ways I've learned to hustle over the earlier years of my life.

Using Inflation In WoW To Make More Gold - Here I discuss the strategy of using inflation to your advantage by buying materials now for the selling crafted products after the prices inflate.

Guild Challenges & Reflections On The Random Invite Guild - The all random invite guild hit the level 25 guild level cap and this was my summary post on just how much gold I made passively.  I also discuss how I could have promoted more guild challenges to earn extra gold each week.

Auction House Junkies February Recap

During February we released 2 new episodes of The Auction House Junkies podcast.  I also created and displayed The Auction House Junkies Cast Member Photo so you can see what the three of us look like, well sort of - LOL.  I also debuted the Auction House Junkies Swag Shop on Zazzle and the Auction House Junkies Official Squidoo Page, where you can vote on your favorite cast member, leave show topic ideas, and answer polls and questions.  Be sure to stop by and check them out.

AHJ - Episode #24: Cold Plays Mono-Blue - The guys pushed the time up and called me just as I started a MTGO tournament where I had drafted an all Blue Deck for sealed.

AHJ - Episode #25: French Dip - The infamous French Dip sandwich show.

Top Blog Posts From January 2012

Recap Of Popular January Posts

Here is a look back into some of the most popular posts from January 2012 here at Cold's Gold Factory.

The Random Invite Guild Hits Guild Level 25 - The anti-social all random invite guild reaches the guild cap and passively earns me 17,000 gold along the way.  In a follow-up post, I discuss how promoting Guild Challenges for gold making could have greatly increased those earnings from the guild.

My Scribe's Favorite WoW Gold Making Spot - As an entry into the February Gold Blogging Carnival, I go over one of my secret spots for efficient gold making in World of Warcraft, the Orgrimmar Troll Auction Hut.  A location every Horde Scribe should know and love thanks to the close proximity of all things Inscription.

Looking Ahead To Battle Pets In WoW's Mists of Pandaria - Looking ahead to WoW's upcoming expansion, Mists of Pandaria, and what will be some of the determining factors in placing value on companion pets and the Battle Pet System.

Population Cycles and Mysterious Fortune Card Barking - Touching back on barking and selling Mysterious Fortune Cards and looking at times that sales will spike to coincide with population spikes.  Mysterious Fortune Cards will never become obsolete, but some times they sell much better than others.

The Lunar Festival Cross Faction Exchange Markets - The Lunar Festival brings in both Horde and Alliance Lanterns.  Selling them to the faction that can earn and purchase them is foolish, while selling them cross faction brings major profits.

Murloc Scale Belts & Slimy Murloc Scales - Bringing attention to a rare crafting material used for a Best-in-Slot twink belt.  Funny thing is that players who have never twinked are pretty clueless about twinking gear and the respective twink markets.

These were the most popular posts from last month.  If you missed them the first go around, be sure to check them out now as there are some great articles in this batch.

On another note:  Be sure to check out the Auction House Junkies staff photo, now hosted at AuctionHouseJunkies.com for a good laugh.  :)

Recap Of Popular May CGF Posts

Welcome Back!

Welcome to all of my new and returning readers!  Each month I do a recap of the month before and highlight 10 gold posts or gold guides that appeared during the previous month.  I highlight the top 5 most popular and the 5 with the most comments / best discussion.  Comments have been down a bit, since I turned off "anonymous" commenting, but the quality is still great.  It does save me having to delete some spam and helps keeps the idiots from commenting.  (No offense to any anon commentors that have a legit reason to be anonymous.)

WoW Gold Post And Guides Recap

Last month, we had a special announcement regarding the scandalous practices of Markco of JMTC that saw a lot of page views as well as comments.  More comments (71) than have ever been on a single post here at Cold's Gold Factory.  Neither traffic, nor comments were motivations for the post.  They were just a side-effect of the public service announcement.
Most Popular Gold Posts From May
Gold Posts / Guides With The Most Discussion From May
  • Twilight Highlands Vendors Nerfed - Nearly all the exclusive vendors in the Twlight Highlands Cataclysm zone are no longer exclusive. Vendors selling the same recipes and cogwheels are now available in major cities. This means you can get the Cataclysm level high end crafting recipes at character level 75 now. Bummer.
  • Mysterious Fortune Card Mastery | WoW Gold Guide - This was the post I launched my WoW Gold Guide.  Take note.  This is in the Discussion Section of the Monthly Recap.  The comments section is a great journey and testimonial.
  • Realm Gold Add-On For WoW - This add-on spotlight was aimed at a nice little add-on I enjoy using - Realm Gold.  Adds up the total gold on all of my characters.  Love It.
  • Forged Documents Dailies For Gold - The cost to craft has been lowered, thus making these profitable to craft.  Only can make one per day though.
  • Bank Item Decay and Banking Neglect - Are You Neglecting Your Banks?  Is it a Stockpile or Are You A Hoarder?
