Patch 5.1 Golden Lotus & Potion of Luck NERFS

WoW Patch 5.1 Landfall:
Golden Lotus and Potion of Luck Changes

The first major Patch of the Mists of Pandaria expansion cycle hit the live servers this last Tuesday (US) / Wednesday (UK).  Along with many of the expected changes were various unannounced changes, or what we refer to as Stealth Changes or Stealth Nerfs.  There have been a few stealth changes that are pretty big hits to certain styles of crafting, farming, & gold making.  One of the biggest Patch 5.1 stealth changes was the changes to the Golden Lotus vendor and the Potion of Luck.

Golden Lotus Vendor and Potion of Luck Changes

Prior to the release of WoW Patch 5.1, the Alliance and Horde Spirit of Harmony vendors located within the Pandarian capital cities would sell you 3 Golden Lotus for 1 Spirit of Harmony.  As an Engineer with limited use for the Spirits of Harmony, I was constantly trading them in for 3 Golden Lotuses.  The Golden Lotuses get sent to my Alchemist and she crafts Potions of Luck, which prior to Patch 5.1 required 3 Golden Lotuses per Potion of Luck.

Then came Patch 5.1.  I noticed the change to the Golden Lotus / Spirit of Harmony vendor within minutes of logging in and was pretty upset as I had waited to trade in a large stack of Spirits of Harmony.  After I logged over to craft the Potions of Luck after the Patch 5.1 had been implemented, I saw that the Potion of Luck recipe has now been changed to only require 1 Golden Lotus.  Ok, so the nerf to the vendor isn't so bad, because you can make 2 Potions of Luck from every Spirit of Harmony, which is twice what you could craft before.  Which would be great and turn these stealth changes into a buff, as opposed to a stealth nerf, if that was all that was changed.  Unfortunately it gets worse.

Potion of Luck now only lasts for 20 minutes and the 1 hour useage cooldown remains.  Oh c'mon Blizzard!  Currently, we can only farm with a Potion of Luck for 20 minutes out of every hour.  Overall the changes will result in less Potion of Luck farming on the same character since you can't just drink potions back to back for hours of farming.

On a similar note:  Cataclysm's Potion of Treasure Finding remains unchanged.

PS: Blingtron 4000 also got nerfed and now only gives 1 daily quest per account.  No more logging multiple alts for multiple gifts.

How To Make Gold Without Professions | Embersilk Cloth Farming Method 2500g in 30 mins

The following is a guest post from the WoW Newsletter Team over at http://freewowresource.info
feel free to check them out.

How To Make Gold Without Professions
*Embersilk Cloth Farming Method 2500g in 30 Mins*

Hey! Gamebox from the Newsletter Team here and I would like to give a hearty hello to all the members here at Colds Gold Factory. Thank you for having me today. But, before we carried away with formal pleasantries lets get down to the meat and potatoes of this post.

The Overview

The Majority of your gold-making time will be spent in the NE corner of Deepholm bashing away at the creatures who inhabit the Verlok Stand. This area, for the most part, is usually completely isolated and quite frankly, hard to find. There are no quests available to date that involve this sub-zone directly. Meaning, there will be more mobs to go around and less competition even on the most populated realms (I play on Emerald Dream and there's damn near any competition there).
Also, the mobs are tightly compacted into one area and deal melee damage exclusively, which makes rounding up and controlling them a trivial task for any character. Oh, and did I mention that re-spawn times are almost instant?

Getting Prepared, What Your Gonna Need

There's a couple things that can make this strategy all the more better, actually we've been brainstorming some new ideas this week. Here's the gist of what you're gonna need.

(Absolutely Critical) Potion of Treasure Finding

This potion is actually the foundation of this strategy. If you've never used the Potion of Treasure Finding, then quickly take note of it and add it to your gold making arsenal. Right now! When you consume this potion, upon looting enemies in the listed zones, you get roughly a 10% chance of spawning a little mini treasure chest that contains some neat randomized loot. Don't worry, you won't be getting any junk either. Every chest spawns at least 2-7g in addition to some cataclysm old world trade goods or greens. Expect to get chests that contain up to ½ a stack of cloth and ores. And expect them often. Many times when killing a group of 18 or more mobs I've had the good fortune of getting 3 of these chest at once. Needless to day, its a great feeling.

(Recommended) Level 86+ Character to Solo

The farm can be done with a level 85 (I do in the video) but, it can be a little difficult to farm with a cloth wearing characters that aren't level 90 yet. However, as long as your character can kill big groups of mobs at once and has sufficient self healing you should be O.K. I personally haven't had any problems farming this on a DK, Pally, Mage, Druid, Shaman, nor Monk.

(Optional) 525 Enchanting +

Why? Because your gonna be receiving lots and lots of green loot. Due to the lack of bracer enchant options at the moment, old world bracer scrolls are fetching a pretty nifty price in the market right now. Your profits will greatly increase if you can offer an enchanting service using your freshly acquired mats.

Getting There and Pulling Mobs:

Alliance: The portal to Deepholm is found South of Stormwind Keep at the huge lakes.
Horde: The portal to Deepholm is found in the Valley of Wisdom just before the vendors.

When you zone into Deepholm look for the Verlok Strand in the Northeastern Hemisphere. Its a long strip just a bit north of the crimson expanse. Upon arrival you should see a seemingly endless stream of mobs just ripe for the pickin'. A good way to go about this would be to start from the beginning or end of the platform and work your way to the other side. This way, the re-spawns wont keep you in combat and by the time you just finish up traveling from one end to the other, the mobs in the opposite direction have already re-spawned! Common sense? Yes! Do most people do this? No.. Keeping this in mind will enable you to work more efficiently, save yourself some time, and in the end make a little more gold.
Side Note For Working Efficiently: Make sure you pull as many mobs as you can possibly handle at one time. Don't waste time killing just 3 when you can be killing 20.

Recounting The Loot:

This is the most entertaining and my favorite part of the farm (and hopefully yours too). Below is a list featuring the loot I collected from one 30 minute session and the prices each item fetched in the AH or as vendor trash.   *NOTE* These are the prices on Emerald Dream.  Your server's prices may be slightly higher or lower than the values listed here.
Gold Gained Looting Mobs = 128g
Gold Gained Looting Chests = 82g
Gold Gained Vendoring Greens = 62g
Gold Gained Vendoring Grays = 43g
Gold Gained Selling Volatiles = 160g
Gold Gained Selling Pyrite Ore = 27g
Gold Gained Selling Embersilk = 2010g

Total Amount = 2512g in 30 mins

Not bad for 30 minutes of farming is it? Just take note that the potion of treasure finding lasts for 1 hour, so ideally, you'd want to farm for an additional 30 minutes to get the most bang for your buck. Give this a try and let us know what you think. If you liked this article and want to see many more like it, then subscribe to our Gold Newsletter over at http://Freewowresource.info. Thank you again Cold for having me tonight and happy farming on behalf of the team.

Cheers,

- Newsletter Team

Edit From Cold - Use your tailor to do the farming and you'll get even more Embersilk Cloth thanks to the Cloth Scavenging bonus that all Tailors get in the higher level zones.  Also, instead of selling the Embersilk Cloth in it's raw cloth form, convert it to the max slot profession bags (patterns locked behind Firelands Dailies) for even more profits.  Profession Bags are still selling strong and for hefty profits.  This farming strategy is even better now with the AoE Looting addition to World of Warcraft.

WoW Leveling Goods On The Upswing!

Warcraft On Sale
WoW Leveling Goods Selling Strong Again

Knowing when to adjust your sales tactics on the WoW auction house ahead of the curve is always a way to improve your gold making profitability.  Preparing and stocking up prior to a major patch or an expansion release is always a wise tactics, but preparing for an upcoming WoW auction market cycle is also a great strategy for short term profit increases.  For example:  Leveling goods have been selling quite well this last week, but why are they?  Before you move onto the next paragraph, can you think of a reason or two why leveling goods would be selling better this week?

Captain Obvious Says:  "New Players & Returning Players"

What Market Cycles Would Cause Leveling Goods To Be Selling Better Again?

While "new players and returning players" is a correct answer, let's dig deeper into why there are new players and players returning to World of Warcraft in late Novemeber.
  1. Thanksgiving School Break (in the US at least) - Thanksgiving week is the first time US colleges and universities shut down completely, which means this is the first time that college students have a full week off from classes.  For some, that means partying on the biggest drunken party night of the year (night before Thanksgiving) and recovering, but for many it means a full week of gaming.  Some college students actually only play WoW on college breaks and summer vacations.  So for some college age students, this past week was the first time they got to dig in to Mists of Pandaria.  High School kids also get an extended weekend for the Thanksgiving holiday, which means more play time for high schol kids too.
  2. Black Friday Week Sales - There have been a ton of great sales during Black Friday / Cyber Monday Week at Amazon, mega in-store sales, and now Blizzard online sales have been added.  All of these great priced WoW boxed set and expansion sales are designed to bring in new players.  Getting caught up to MoP for just $35, is a great way to get new players joining the game and starting their first WoW characters.  They even have the MoP Collector's Edition on sale for $35, which will get you the LE mount and pet for $35.  It's also a great time to buy WoW Collector's Editions for flipping later for a bigger profit too! (Sales ends at midnight tonight - so act fast!)
Thanksgiving breaks from colleges and high schools, as well as the influx of new players brought in from the great Black Friday and Cyber Monday Warcraft sales, are both leading to increase player populations over the last week.  These population cycles happen every year and knowing ahead of time, allows you to prepare for selling those items that the new leveling characters will desire.  I've been able to make a nice dent in the remaining blue leveling gear that I had stockpiled for the Mists of Pandaria launch and of course Mysterious Fortune Card barking and population increases go hand in hand for easy sales.  As the brand new players continue to level up, there will continue to be more sales coming in for leveling characters, but some of these guys will be stalled out until their next break, the big Christmas Vacation.  So if you didn't plan ahead for this market cycle, then be sure to get ready for the influx of Christmas Noobs.

Anyone else seen an increase in sales this week on items that tends to sell better to leveling characters?

Found Daft Punk In WoW! - EDM Easter Egg!

I Found Daft Punk In Warcraft!

Daft Punk In WoW MoP
Daft Punk In WoW
Daft Punk

Daft Punk has always been one of my favorite electronic producers since the late 90s when I myself was first getting into electronic music.  Daft Punk produced French House, which was the same style that I chose when I was DJing at house parties.  I owned a ton of Daft Punk vinyl and all their CDs, so yeah I was a big fan.

In the Engineering / Auction House area inside the Shrine of Two Moons, which is the Horde capital city of Pandaria, you can find a pair of in game characters representing the Daft Punk DJs.  Obviously Daft Punk would be Engineers, since thtey get the best helmets!  You can see the Daft Punk duo, Guy-Manuel de Homen-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, represented by the Goblins, Guyo Crystalgear and Tivilix Bangalter.  Of course they are both sporting a pair of great full helmets just like their French House counterparts.

So that's pretty cool, I found a Daft Punk Easter Egg in WoW.  I know where I'm be dropping my D.I.S.C.O. Ball and partying in the World of Warcraft.

Reputation Changes Coming To WoW & Tips For Rep Gains

Reputation Grinding Made Easier

Major Reputation Changes Are Slated For WoW

One of the biggest complaints coming through loud and clear to Blizzard regarding the Mists of Pandaria expansion has been the strong dislike for daily quests and reputation grinding.  The official Blizzard forums are overflowing with complaints regarding the dailies grind in MoP, which is much like the old Vanilla reputation grinding model.

The 8 year WoW anniversary gift (Which you find in each of your character's mailboxes) awards a slight buff to reputation earned from kills, but this amounts to hardly no bonus unless you are out grinding mobs for their reputation from kills.  Even better is the Spirit of Sharing buff, which you earn from eating a full 5 stack of all of the Pilgrim's Bounty foods on the great sharing tables.  The Spirit of Sharing gives you a buff that increases all reputation earned (and experience), which is much better since the Spirit of Sharing buff also works on quest turn in reputation awards.  The good news is that both of the reputation buffs do stack and can be used simultaneously.

These are both slight buffs to help you progress through the reputation grinds with a little faster pace, but the better change to the overall reputation grinding system is on its way.

WoW Reputation Grinding Made Easier

On the Official WoW Forums, Crithto (Community Manager) made a post regarding the upcoming reputation changes.  These are going to be some excellent changes for those of us that are stuck grinding reputation on multiple characters.  I myself have multiple crafters that need to grind out the various reputation factions just to unlock their professsion recipes.  These new reputation changes will definately make that much easier once it is introduced, hopefully in Patch 5.2, since it's currently not slated for WoW Patch 5.1.

What Reputation Changes Are Coming To WoW?

According to the official forum post, the major changes to how we earn WoW reputation will include:
  1. Once a character reaches Revered status with a faction, all other characters on the same Battle.net account will gain reputation for that same faction at double the current rate.
  2. Upon reaching Revered status with a faction, all reputation gains towards earning Exhalted status will also be doubled.
So get Revered with a character and all characters on your account progress twice as fast when earning reputation with that same faction.  Get to revered on all of the factions to unlock double reputation gains for all of your account's characters.  This can't be implemeted soon enough!

Thinking Ahead And Saving Rep

With the current reputation buffs, we can put them to good use for a slight increase in our reputation earnings.  Don't get careless though and waste your reputation too early because it way be more beneficial to wait until the change to reputation is patched into the active WoW servers.  Huh? Say what?

Currently, you should continue to push towards Revered and then STOP, unless you need to unlock Exhalted status for a gear upgrade, recipe, or mount.  If you don't need anything at Exhalted, then just stop at Revered.  you can go back to pushing to Exhalted for Achievement reasons after they patch the changes in and it will half your time and rep required.  And Revered is the required status to unlock the double reputation gains on your other alts.

Reputation turn ins should not be used now, unless you have enough collected to push you to Exhalted status.  Onyx Eggs, Relics of Guo-Lai (from the Ancient Guo-Lai Cache), Hozen Peace Pipes, and other items that award reputation should not be wasted now.  I would just collect these items for now and hold onto them until the reputation changes go live when we can earn double the points for using them.  If you have enough to push you to Exhalted, then by all means yeah use them now, but I definately wouldn't use them as soon as I find them.  Once you have enough to hit the cap, then use em, but don't waste your reputation gains now, when you can get double gains in the future.

Gifts For Gamers: Top 5 Table Top Card Games

GIFTS FOR GAMERS - A weekly column at Cold's Gold Factory that focuses on bringing you some of the coolest gifts for gamers of all types. Remember to check back here for ideas for Gamer Birthday Gifts, Stocking Stuffers for Gamers, and Gamer Christmas Ideas.

Gifts For Gamers

Last week on Gifts For Gamers, I listed my Top 10 Favorite Board Games of all time and this week I continue on with another favorites list tackling my Top 5 Tabletop Card Games.  Card games are great games to have on hand because they often don't take as long to play as the board games.  The table top card games can be easier entry level games for non-gamers for those of you who are trying to get your spouse, significant other, or friends to experience more of the non-traditional main stream types of games.  Here's a great list of card (non-trading card games) games to get you started.

Cthulhu Fluxx Card Game by Looney Labs
Cold Loves Cthulhu Fluxx
 Cold's Top 10 Card & Dice Games
  1. Fluxx - Fluxx is one of the best card games ever created and every single gamer should own a copy.  It's very fun, games can play out quickly, it's one of the best games for non-gamers to get started with newer games, and Fluxx is available in many different themed variants.  I've done a full review of Fluxx and all the variants, with a video of how to play from the game's creator, whom I've met at an annual gaming convention.  The game and the creators are both awesome and I simply cannot recommend this game enough. I used to carry a deck around in my backpack everywhere I went and we played the hell out of that game anytime we had down time.  My favorite versions are Stoner Fluxx and Cthulhu Fluxx, which is also the newest release.
  2. Lunch Money Card Game of the year
  3. Lunch Money - Another one of the best table top card games ever created!  Lunch money is a friggin' blast, even if it is a little sick and twisted.  I highly recommend expanding your deck with the Lunch Money: Sticks and Stones expansion as well for more playground beatdowns!  Lunch Money is a fast paced action card game where the players play the rolls of toddlers on the  playground, but this isn't a regular schoolyard ruckus.  You play cards and combinations of cards (if properly set-up) to beat the shit out of each other using headbuts, fists, kicks, grabs, throws, special attacks, defensive maneuvers and even weapons!  Lunch Money also features some dark and creepy artwork of children.  I spinning backfist you, and you ducked, so the spinning backfist just hit the kid to your left!  Ouch!  Truly wicked fun for multiple players.  After just one play, you will be hooked on this amazingly fun playground free for all.
  4. Gifts For Gamers: Munchkin
  5. Munchkin - One of the most expandable and randomly crazy fun card games I've been able to play.  A friend owns a copy and a ton of the expansions, so of course I always want to play when I'm visiting him.  It's an awesome card game that simulates a fantasy (Dungeons n Dragons style) type adventure where you level your character and collect treasure from killing monsters, while competing against your fellow players.  There are plenty of expansions to keep every play session fresh and random.  I love me some Munchkin!
  6. Gifts For Gamers: Seven Dragons Card Game
  7. Aquarious / Seven Dragons - Both Aquarius and Seven Dragons are similar card games, just with a different theme.  Aquarius has an elemental theme and Seven Dragons is a fantasy dragon based theme deck, but both card games play the same.  They are very easy to learn games that are similar to dominoes, but with action cards to destroy, replace, and move cards on the table to reach your secret goal.
  8. Grass - A fast paced cut-throat game where players are pitted against each other as you try to score $250k worth of Grass.  Just don't get fined, busted, or ripped off by other players!  Lots of intoxicatingly good fun for adults.
That concludes my list of the Top 5 Best Card Games For Gamers.  I can't more strongly urge every single one of you to own a copy of one of the variants of Fluxx and a copy of Lunch Money.  Both games are an absolute blast that almost any gamer will enjoy.  And since these are great gifts in small packages, they make wonderful stocking stuffers for the gamers in your life.
Anyone else able to vouge for how great any of these games are?

Stat Weight Priorities by Armor Type & Class | Gear Drops: What To Sell vs Disenchant vs Vendor

Gear Stat Weight Priorities Based On Class & Armor Type

Wondering what to do with all of the gear you've been finding in Mists of Pandaria?  Not sure whether you should disenchant, vendor, or sell on the auction house?  I've compiled some handy reference charts with data collected from Icy-Veins.com to help determine if the stats on the gear you find is worth selling   or not.

Originally, I started collecting this data as a tool for gearing and reforging the gear for my alts.  Then I've been using it for determining which items have a better chance of selling because they are either the right stat combination or are the stats and gear used by multiple classes and specs.

Basically, if the item has 2 of the top 3 or 3 of the top 4 stats by weight distribution on the proper armor type, then I will try to sell it on the auction house.  If not, I either disenchant the gear or vendor it, if the item is worth more vendored than disenchanted.

I hope you can use these tables to help you with gearing up as well as knowing what stats have top priorities for classes and specializations so that you too know what to sell, vendor, and disenchant.

Legend:
(c) = Until capped
(sc) = Until soft-capped
(r) = Until comfortable with mana regeneration
(=) = Linked stats have equivalent weight priority
< > = Interchangable priority per preference or gear
Hit/SPI (c) = Some classes SPI = Hit due to Spec abilities

If you are not a blogger, you can still participate in the monthly carnivals as you can have a post hosted at Goldgrubs.com. Now I present to you this month's participants on the topic of:

Cross Realm Auction Houses?  What's Your Opinion?
Is the CRAH a good or bad idea? What would you predict would happen to the auction economy?  Does the notion excite or horrify you?  Would a CRAH we good or bad for WoW?

Cross Realm Auction House Opinions - November Gold Blogging Carnival

It was great to see the various opinions and not have everyone be totally against the Cross Realm Auction House possibilities.  Comments have been very active on most of these CRAH posts.  Drop your own comments on their site as well as here if you have an opinion that you would like to share about what would happen if we got a auction house merger across servers.

Gifts for Gamers: Top 10 Board Games Picks

GIFTS FOR GAMERS - A weekly column at Cold's Gold Factory that focuses on bringing you some of the coolest gifts for gamers of all types. Remember to check back here for ideas for Gamer Birthday Gifts, Stocking Stuffers for Gamers, and Gamer Christmas Ideas.

Gifts For Gamers

It's that time of year again, when Black Friday and Cyber Monday are just around the corner.  This is one of the absolute best times of the year to stock up on games and gifts for gamers as Amazon holds some amazing discounts on toys and games as they gear up for the Christmas season.  The countdown to Black Friday has already started and so have the savings!

Board games, especially the more hardcore gamer style board games, can tend to be a bit pricey, so this month is a great time to buy a few of those cool board games you've been holding back on because of the price.  It's also a great time to ask for specific games for your Christmas gift list and let someone else foot the bill.

Gifts For Gamers: Cold's Top Board Game Picks

This week on Gifts For Gamers, I've compiled a list of my most favorite Board Games of all times.  I am personally recommending each and every one of these board games as a gift for yourself or a gift for a gamer in your life.  This is an awesome list of games that I've played, purchased, and enjoyed for ages.  You should find them enjoyable as well.  And the best part about board games is that you can try and convert non-hardcore gamers into playing and enjoying some of the cooler board games out there.  Who knows, you may help bring the gamer out of someone who didn't even know they had that side in them!

Cold's Favorite Board Games
(In No Particular Order)

Gifts for Gamers - Settlers Board Game
    Settlers of Catan

  1. The Settlers of Catan - The Settlers of Catan is one of the best board games I've ever played and owned.  Settlers is one of the most popular and successful board games among many gaming circles.  The Settler's of Catan is a resource building strategy game and the game board map is different every game thanks to the random design of the game board tiles.  This is great for replay value and Settlers is also a great game to introduce non-hardcore gamers to some cooler board games.  I can't recommend this game enough.  There are many expansions for
  2. Blokus - Blokus is an awesome thinking game to help sharpen your mind.  Blokus has won a ton of awards and is easy to learn, but hard to master.  I asked for this as a Christmas gift the year it released and I've loved it ever since.
  3.
    Blokus - Gifts For Gamers
    Blokus

  4. RoboRally - Another super fun game where you program robots to race around a track and try to beat your mates.  It's not as easy as it sounds because there are tons of obstacles, lazers, pitfalls, and other robot racers.  It only takes a single alteration in your course to throw your whole plan out of whack because you program your robots ahead of time and they run their routes regardless of what happens to get in their way.
  5. Dealer McDope - Out of print, rare, hard to find, and awesome fun for your kind buddies.  Travel from Doobietown, USA to the far reaches of the world collecting hash, blow, acid, and many other drugs to bring back to Doobietown and sell for a profit.  Don't get busted by the fuzz or get your goods stolen by a competing dealer.  One of the most hard to find games out there that no pot smoking college kid should be without.
    Cranium - Gifts For Gamers
    Cranium

  6. Cranium - Cranium is one of the most popular family or party style board games ever released.  This game brings the best of many party games all into a single game which draws from Pictionary, Charades, and many other common games.  Put the all together and you have an amazing party game that is fun for the whole family.  There are also plenty of Cranium expansion packs to further add to your game.
  7. Diplomacy - The classic board game of trust, treachery, lying, and backstabbing.  Each player controls a WWI superpower in Europe and must work with the other superpowers to create pacts and treaties behind the scenes, but you can't trust anyone!  Each round of play is divided into a Diplomacy phase and an Action phase.  During Diplomacy phase you pull players aside individually or as a group trying to form treaties and work together to support each others actions.  Once everyone has their actions recorded on paper, its time for the Action phase where you see just who lied to you and who holds up to their end of the bargain.  There's nothing more fun that having a few players trusting in your fully only to see you swarm across their unprotected lands laying waste to everything they left behind.  LOL SUCKAS!  Imagine the board game Risk with a diplomacy phase and you are close.
  8. Talisman: The Magical Quest - Talisman is another excellent fantasy based board game where you build your characters up and try to collect treasure while staying alive and making it back out of the dungeon.  Hours of fun and a ton of expansions to add into the board game for even more fun, strategy, and challenges.
  9. HeroQuest - Out of print, rare, hard to find, but super awesome!  I can't count the number of hours we played this in high school and college.  It's a little different than most board games because one player acts as the Dungeon Master who controls all of the monsters, traps, and puzzles.  An awesome game all around and there where a lot of expansions that are now even harder to find.  Keep your eyes peeled at rummage sales, thrift stores, and flea markets!
  10. Blood Bowl - Cross Football with Warhammer Fantasy races and what do you get?  Blood Bowl!  That right!  Orcs, Skaven, Humans, Elves, etc playing Football in the Blood Bowl.  Not everyone gets carted off alive!  With the expansion your Necromancer can bring the dead back to play for even more first downs!  I still remember my first Blood Bowl league in college when I went 7-1 and took home the League Championship with my Undead team and the All Star Vampire quarterback I had drafted.  Think you're coming to sack me?  Hypnotized!  Think again!  So much awesome I can't even describe it all.  At least there is a PC version of Blood Bowl out now.
  11. Supremacy - Another world superpowers game, similar to Diplomacy, but this one is on a World Scale.  Where else can you try to bankrupt opposing countries, defeat them in strategic warfare, or just launch nukes to level them or half of the entire world?  If playing with me be forewarned, I like to nuke first and ask questions later!  Another hard to get out of print special board game.

Blood Bowl Games Workshop
Blood Bowl - Real Fantasy Football

After realizing how many of my favorite games are out of print and hard to find (including ones that I couldn't even add to this list because they aren't available at all anymore!), I just realized I must be getting old.  LOL.  Regardless there are a ton of awesome games on this list, even if some of them are way more expensive now due to their rarity.  I hope you enjoyed the list and I hope they release some of these out of print games again!

Are there any super awesome hardcore gamer board games that I missed out on?  Leave your own recommendations in the comments.

Top Blog Posts, News & Podcasts From October

Top Blog Posts, Podcasts, & Links From October 2012

October continued on as another great month here at Cold's Gold Factory, with plenty of the fresh Mists of Pandaria traffic continuing to pour in.  Readers, you can always send in questions to me directly or you can leave your WoW gold making questions over on the /Goblinism subreddit.

October's WoW Gold Blogging Carnival was a great one that focused on our MoP Launch Strategies and Results.  This was a great series to see the various plans of multiple gold makers and just how they turned out posts Mists of Pandaria's launch.  Be sure to check out those carnival entries and you may get a few ideas for making gold in WoW that you aren't already working on.

Podcast News From October

Auction House Junkies

The Auction House Junkies podcast is done.  Yup. We've officially called it quits instead of limping out a show here and there.  The previous shows are still available and are still worth a listen for new listeners, but there are no plans to release new episodes at this time.  The show won't be resurrected in the future, without the help of a financial sponsor.  I'd love to continue on with the podcast, but I can't afford to carry the finacial burden, nor do I have time for editing it in addition to my own podcast segment, so it's dead at this point.

The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast

With the collapse of AHJ, we've rolled gold making segments into the new mostly WoW format of The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast.  We've been bringing some good discussion and content that relates to the World of Warcraft economy and WoW gold making as a regular part of every show, so don't miss it!

We've had some pretty awesome, funny, and crazy episodes lately, as well as our first ever guest on the show (Episodes #25).  Here's the latest episodes from October:
  1. The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast #21 - "Bubbles The Orc"
  2. The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast #22 - "Progressive Heaven" (Musical Week while we took a break from the show)
  3. The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast #23 - "Zumba Scouts"
  4. The Eviscerated Gaming Podcast #24 - "Crazy Bacon"
