Children's Week Recap

The Search Page

I would like to draw some attention to the top of the page.  You should see a new tab up there labeled "Search".  This an Awesome New Feature I have added to make it easier to identify posts on specific topics.  You just search for specific items, posts, or topics and the search will return you a list of articles from Cold's Gold Factory and Auction House Junkies.

This new search feature will also allow me to moniter the topics searched for so that I can add some of the popular search topics to future blog posts.  So if you use the search, I can come up with some posts tailored to what you are looking for as readers.  Hell, it could even give Wes and I an idea for an episode on the Auction House Junkies WoW gold making podcast.
So Give It a Try!

Children's Week

Children's Week starts today.  So instead of providing a blog post with a recap of recent Children's Week posts, let's give the new Search feature a try.  So head on up to the Search tab and give it a try.

Search for Children's Week or whatever else you like.

What To Do With Small Egg Extras

Winter Veil Coming To An End

The World of Warcraft in game holiday, The Feast of Winter Veil, will soon be coming to an end.  Hopefully you were able to take full advantage of the auction house holiday and made out with piles of gold.   Stocking up on Small Eggs is always a great way to make some easy gold from auction house sales.  This year the Winter Veil start time changed and may have impacted your sales.

Small Egg Surplus

Some players have been making great sales from Winter Veil and selling small eggs.  Others have had their sales slowed thanks to the Azerothian holiday starting at 8am instead of 3am.  This cut deep into my own profits as I usually made 75% of my sales before most people knew the holiday had even started.  With the later start time, prices tended to be lower as there was more competition.

Buy Cheap Eggs And Save Them

Competition was more fierce and most players have completed their achievements and quests that require Small Eggs.  Now is a good time to find cheap single and stacks of small eggs on the auction house.  Why would we want to buy more small egg?  Children's week is another great time to use and sell Small Eggs.

Starting to stock up for Children's Week now, while the prices are low on Small Eggs, could net you a nice profit when everyone will need them for Delicious Chocolate Cakes in May.  Being a successful auctioneer is partly about planning ahead for the future.  You may also want to add Mageroyal to your snatch list to flip during Children's Week as well.

Cold's Advice Put To Practice

For a testimonial by Bishops on selling small eggs with the neutral auction house, be sure to check out his new blog, The Noob's Corner.  Glad to see some auction house wisdom being put to work.  Good luck with the blog Bishops!

Stock up for Children's Week

Children’s Week is less than a month away. It's always best to plan ahead and get your materials ahead of the demand spike that happens around holidays for certian items. Start stocking mats for Delicious Chocolate Cake now, other wise you may get stuck without the stock to truely take advantage of this great money making week coming in the near future.

This is the 2nd best money making holiday, especially if you are a cook that has done the cooking daily quests and earned your Delicious Chocolate Cake recipe. The cakes sell for 25-35g each and the materials are not hard to gather. I cannot make enough of these to keep any in stock longer than a few hours.

Small Egg and Mageroyal can also be farmed and sold here, although the eggs don’t sell as well as during Winter Veil, since only select high level cooks will buy them. The Flask of Port can sell also because it can be tricky or time consuming to find and buy off the limited vendors that sell it. Tasty Cupcake sells during this week also. The easy money makers here are the desserts required for the Sweet Treats Achievement, which is needed for the Meta-achievement. Red Velvet Cupcake, Dalaran Doughnut, and Dalaran Brownie all can be purchased in Dalaran and sold on the auction house for a huge mark up profit.

You wouldn't believe the numbers of people that don’t have the expansion yet and can’t even get there to buy them themselves. Like always, you want to be one of the first to post these as posting earlier will make you more gold. The same dessert vendor in Dalaran also sells the Lovely Cake which can be cut into the Lovely Cake Slice needed for the achievement. Be careful with these because they are expensive. Only buy what you know you can sell. Tigule and Furor’s Strawberry Ice Cream is used for not only the achievement, but for one of the orphan quests as well, so although it sells for a lot cheaper, it is a quick mover.
